Episode 634 - Jake Hastings

Jake is an Air Force Veteran who spent six years working as a Mental Health Technician and medic in Germany. He then went on to work in the beautiful Pacific Northwest as a ski patroller during the winter and a park ranger during the summer. He later joined the fire department and worked 6 years as a firefighter/ EMT and loved driving the fire engine as the engineer. Eventually leaving the fire service, Jake built a business to facilitate events for companies who want to give back.

Jake's passion for helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities stems from growing up with a brother with Autism. After 13 years of uniformed services, Jake now raises awareness and financial support for organizations supporting people with IDD through public speaking, wellness retreats, and writing a book. Jake's autobiography Chasing Badass will be released in 2023. Chasing Badass will tell the story of working in uniformed services while searching for the elusive title of 'Badass,' only to come full circle and find a true passion and calling in serving people with IDD.
