Cody Gateley is a proud second generation fire fighter who currently serves as a Lieutenant/Paramedic for the St George Fire Department in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is the Assistant State Director of Louisiana’s Firefighter Cancer Support Network chapter and has participated in several responder health and safety projects at the National Fire Academy.
Amanda J. Weathers is a researcher-practitioner and recent doctoral graduate from the School of Kinesiology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her research focus involves improving the mental fitness of firefighters through bodily movement and mindfulness. Amanda’s clinical work focuses on culturally appropriate counseling practices within the fire service. She is a PLPC in the State of Louisiana and National Certified Counselor. She is also a proud member of a first responder family; her brother is a firefighter and her sister is a retired paramedic.
Adam C. Lowe is a Research Specialist at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a doctoral candidate in the School of Kinesiology at Louisiana State University. Adam has been involved in conducting clinical exercise trials sponsored by the Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, and United States Department of Agriculture.. He has also worked with multiple fire departments to develop and implement physical activity interventions for improved physical and mental health. He is an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and an ACSM/American Cancer Society (ACS) Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer.
