Al Benjamin spent 35 years as a firefighter at FDNY, with a majority of his career spent on the prestigious Rescue 1. Al was born and raised in Brooklyn, inspired to become a firefighter by the firefighters that protected his own neighborhood. Al retired in 2012 and continues to teach and mentor.
