Dr. Beau B Hightower earned the first of three Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology from the University of New Mexico. Subsequent Bachelor of Science degrees in Anatomy, followed by Health and Wellness were earned. Dr. Hightower graduated with honors from Parker University where he earned his DC degree. His Sports Medicine Residency was completed in Bogota, Colombia where he treated the country's Olympic athletes at the Coldeportes training facility.
Dr. Hightower is licensed by the New Mexico Medical Board. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from California University with a Masters degree in Exercise Sciences. He possesses over 400 hours of post-doctoral education in physical rehabilitation and functional neurology and earned his second Doctorate degree in Naprapathic Medicine. He is currently pursuing a third doctoral degree. Dr Hightower has achieved the prestigious credential of Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management.
Dr. Hightower has been recognized as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the Commission of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Continuing his post-graduate education, "Dr. H"has also been recognized by The National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. In addition, Dr. Hightower has completed his Functional Movement Screen education, and is a Certified FMS Instructor.
"Dr. H" has successfully treated NFL players, major league baseball players, national champion NCAA wrestlers, champion UFC fighters, Ironman triathletes, elite marathon runners, Olympic athletes, and IFBB professional bodybuilders. Elite-OSM is the preferred provider for Jackson's MMA. He is a member of several “high IQ” organizations such as Mensa, Intertel, and the Top One Percent Society.
Dr. Hightower is a member of the University of New Mexico Alumni Letterman's Association. He was a linebacker for the Lobos from 2003-2005. Dr. Hightower is the team doctor for Jackson/Winklejohn's MMA, and writes a national injury column for KNUXX, a website dedicated to the coverage of boxing and mixed martial arts. He is frequently called upon to treat Hollywood's elite, and has previously treated actors and actresses on the film-sets of NBC's hit drama the Night Shift, as well as the set of Independence Day 2. Dr. H has been featured on the Discovery Channel, Fox Sports 1, Fox, Spike, ESPN Radio, UFC TV, and the Albuquerque Journal.
Dr. H has served on numerous occasions at the Roundhouse in New Mexico, treating state senators and representatives and was recently appointed to the medical staff for USA Track and Field's National Indoor Championships. He also serves as a ringside physician for the New Mexico Athletic Commission during combat sports and has been an official physician for the UFC and Legacy FC.
He enjoys teaching and is currently a clinical instructor at Southwest University of Naprapathic Medicine where he teaches doctoral students in manual medicine. Dr Hightower is the creator of Ortho-Therapy.
