Episode 372 - MSgts Matt Wilson and Ben Perry
Master Sergeant Matthew J. Wilson is an Assistant Chief for Operations, Fire Protection Flight, 633d Civil Engineer Squadron, Joint Base Langley Eustis, Virginia. In this position, he leads a shift of 24 military and civilian members in fire protection and suppression operations. His responsibilities include management of daily operations, organizing and evaluating training, preparing fire reports, developing operating procedures and performing incident command duties on emergency scenes.
The Fire Protection Flight services Headquarters Air Combat Command, the 633d Air Base Wing, 1st Fighter Wing, 192d Fighter Wing, 480th Intelligence Wing, 658 facilities, 1430 housing units, $10.2 billion dollars in aircraft and the 27,000 residents and employees who live and operate on Langley Air Force Base. Sergeant Wilson was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He later moved to Benton, Kentucky where he graduated from Marshall County High School in 2006. He entered the United States Air Force in September of 2007. He has served for 13 years has been to four duty locations and deployed two times. His hobbies include fitness, reading, and spending time with his family. Sergeant Wilson is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science Management at American Military University and is set to graduate in 2021.
MSgt Benjamin Perry is the Executive Assistant to the Command Chief Master Sergeant, Third Air Force, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Third Air Force is U.S. Air Forces in Europe's numbered air force for U.S. European Command as well as the U.S. Air Forces in Africa's numbered air force for U.S. African Command and is comprised of nine active-duty wings across Europe and Africa.
As the executive assistant to the senior enlisted leader, he assists and advises the Command Chief on issues affecting the health, welfare, morale, training, development, and utilization of over 30,000 Airman across two continents. MSgt Perry entered the Air Force in April 2009, and graduated from the Lewis F. Garland Fire Academy in September 2009. He has served for over 11 years, where he has been to two duty locations, and deployed three times. Prior to his current position, he was the Group Executive Officer for the 86th Civil Engineer Group at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
